Finding a counselor with whom you connect is the first, and quite possibly, the most important step in the counseling process. It is my belief, offering a comfortable and safe environment conducive of open and honest self-exploration, is what helps lead to lasting and meaningful life change. Therefore it is my hope the environment we create while working together will enable you to continue on your path with new insight and a positive direction.

During counseling, it is important to recognize the freedom and responsibility with which you enter the process, as these two ideas translate to your everyday world. Stemming from an Existential theoretical background it is the goal of counseling to minimize anxiety and derive clarity and comfort of your place in the world today and give you the skills necessary to maintain that focus tomorrow.

I am open to work with any individual, couple, or family, my areas of specialty center on grief, trauma, crisis and transitions as well as working with couples, and families in relational development. Additionally, as I have worked with adolescences for the last three years, I have developed a strong desire to help our youth establish foundational skills as they prepare to launch into their own lives outside the family unit. It is important for any counselor to recognize their limitations and it is in the spirit of that premise that I assure you if your life situation is beyond my scope, I will partner with you in finding a counselor who’s expertise is more in line with your needs.

Finally, as I have mentioned, the relationship you have with your counselor is central to your counseling success and having confidence in your counselor is a key component of that relationship. Therefore openness and honesty is my commitment to you and I hope you have peace of mind knowing your needs are my priority during our work together
